- You can either do the application online or drop it off in person

- You need to pay the fees and get fingerprinted. If you do the application online, you can book an appointment online with Fieldprint and then go in person. They will send it electronically to DPS.
- If you want to do it in person, you need to get all the fingerprinting done prior and bring it in with your application and fees.
- You can follow up to see where your application is at this link here – LINK HERE
- Wait for the guard card to get processed.
- If successful, you will get a card printed and sent to your mailing address. You cannot work on a site until you have that card in person.
- If unsuccessful/denial, you will need to contact DPS or wait for a letter in the mail explaining why you were denied. You can appeal, but the process can take a long time.
